Blog #1
Coming into college, I was not a very good writer, not saying I am now but I can tell I have been making significant improvements.  From reading Beaufort, Gee, They say I say article, and Driscoll passages, I have really absorbed some key knowledge from these authors about basic writing. One of the main things that has really stood out for me was that writing is suppose to be, from your own thoughts and the form in which you write, and not just structured writing that we always have been taught. Our class has allowed me to freely think about these writings and look for totally specific topics, but simply the ideas/norms that these authors are giving us. I have expanded my thinking on a different level , compared to my writings in high school, because I was always searching for topics. I have had a lot of success with The "They say, I say" templates because they give me a basic start to my writing and helps me form my complex arguments. Overall I enjoy learning in this class, the work load is a little tough sometimes, but you really do learn new concepts.
